Turning the European dream into reality: Swaswati trip to Italy and Beyond with Thrillophilia
“Our new chapter of life began amidst the old-world charm of Europe. Wanderlust was our compass, but Italy – oh, Italy was the dream destination we had carried in our hearts for years.” These words flowed from Swaswati as she reflected on their unforgettable European honeymoon, a journey where reality surpassed imagination. From the grandeur of Rome to the romance of Venice, Italy became the canvas for memories that would last a lifetime.
Even after a week of being back home, she was not over the European fever that had caught her during the honeymoon. Travelling to Europe had been her lifelong dream and she left no stone unturned to plan everything immaculately.
‘Having this almost perfect trip would not have been possible without Thrillophilia. The whole process, starting from booking the trip with Thrillophilia to delivering all the inclusions in the trip was exactly what we hoped for. They helped us customise our trip based on our preferred dates and budget which was a great help for us.’, Swaswati remarked.
From the Eternal City to the Floating City of Italy
Swaswati was very excited to see the wonder of Rome. When she was in school, she loved reading the plays written by Shakespeare. In the Shakespearean world, the city of Rome was the centre stage of polity, society and culture. Exploring the Eternal City with the love of her life was something Swaswati always wished for.
They explored the famous Piazza Navona and the Pantheon in the romantic lanes of Rome. They imagined the ancient Roman gladiators enjoying a fierce fight at the Colosseum and explored the ruins of the royal Roman empire at Palatino Hill. When the sun set below the horizon, they savoured Italian flavours in a lovely restaurant in Rome.
While exploring Vatican City, she was enthralled by the architecture and spirituality of the place. She explored the famous St. Peter's Basilica, built on the site where St. Peter, one of the twelve apostles of Jesus, is considered to have been buried. They walked hand in hand on the narrow cobble-stoned streets of Rome and explored its brilliant street food. They fell in love with the Trapizzino, Deep-fried baccalà, crepes and Gelato.
After roaming in Rome, they embarked on a scenic drive to Florence. It felt like walking into an open-air museum.
From the breathtaking views at Piazzale Michelangelo to the intricate beauty of the Duomo, every corner radiated art and culture. “Florence was alive with creativity. I could almost feel the presence of Michelangelo and Leonardo da Vinci,” Swaswati recalled.
They meandered across Ponte Vecchio, its charming shops glowing under the Tuscan sun, and explored Palazzo Vecchio’s rich history. Between sightseeing, they treated themselves to creamy gelato and hearty ribollita, Florence’s answer to comfort food.
On the other hand, Venice welcomed them like a storybook come to life. Gliding through the canals on a gondola, with the gondolier’s song echoing softly, every moment dripped with romance. “Venice was magic – pure, unfiltered magic,” Swaswati’s husband whispered as they floated beneath the Rialto Bridge.
From the grand St. Mark’s Basilica to quiet alleys dotted with cafés, Venice felt like a city where time stood still. They shared laughter over espresso, watched the world go by, and felt their love deepen with every step.
A Quick Escape Beyond Italy
Swaswati and her husband were most excited about their adventure in Switzerland. On their day excursion to Lucerne, they were ecstatic about discovering the beautiful Swiss town tucked away amidst the Swiss Alps. They went to Grindelwald First where they enjoyed the unparalleled views of the mountains and the valleys.
The cable car ride high above in the clouds was an experience that won their hearts. They also enjoyed cliff walks and hiking around the lake amidst the alpine playground of the Swiss mountains. After their satisfying adventure, they satiated their hunger with the famous Swiss Blue Cake, Swiss Cheese and Fondue.
Swaswati knew that the iconic line from the movie Casablanca was one for the keeps. While enjoying the sightseeing tour in Paris, Swaswati and her husband never ran out of cute poses and captions for their Instagram stories. They explored the Versailles Palace and enjoyed a breathtaking funicular ride to the Montmartre district. The magnificent views of Paris from the top left them speechless.
The Dream That Came True
As their honeymoon came to an end, Swaswati and her husband knew that Italy had fulfilled a dream they’d cherished for years. “From the timeless streets of Rome to Florence’s art and Venice’s romance, Italy gave us everything we imagined and so much more.”
Back home, Swaswati jotted down her memories in a travel diary while her husband compiled their favourite photos. Together, they relived the Italian magic over and over again.
“Thrillophilia helped us turn our dream into a seamless reality, and Italy will forever remain etched in our hearts. If you’re dreaming of Europe, start with Italy – because nowhere else do art, history, and romance blend so perfectly”, Swaswati remarked while praising the trip planners of Thrillophilia.
After having a successful honeymoon, Swaswati and her husband decided to make a travel diary of their European adventure. While Swaswati jotted down her beautiful memories, her husband helped her preserve beautiful pictures of their trip.
