Tushar’s Ultimate Kerala Adventure with Thrillophilia

Tushar’s Ultimate Kerala Adventure with Thrillophilia

Watching the sun slowly bid farewell, painting the sky in warm golden hues, I realised it was our time to bid farewell to Kerala as well! My wife and I were at the top of the lighthouse in Kovalam, gazing at the endless backwaters and making the most of every fleeting moment.

It was hard to believe that our magical trip to Kerala was nearing its end. Every day had been a whirlwind of breathtaking landscapes, thrilling adventures, and unforgettable moments. From the misty tea gardens of Munnar to the serene backwaters of Alleppey, Kerala had exceeded all our expectations.

What made it even more special was that we didn’t have to worry about a thing. Thrillophilia’s meticulous planning made sure everything was seamless.

We were free to explore, relax, and fall even more in love with each other— and with Kerala. Our trip was an adventure of a lifetime, and only if I could, I would relive all of it, all over again!

A Love Story in the Hills

The moment we reached Munnar, the vibrant greenery and mist-covered hills made it clear why it’s called the crown jewel of Kerala. Rolling tea gardens stretched endlessly, and the air smelled of fresh spices. We visited the spice plantations first, where we saw pepper, cardamom, and cinnamon growing in abundance.

Next, we wandered into the tea gardens. Watching the workers expertly pluck tea leaves was mesmerising. The highlight, though, was when we tried making tea ourselves under the guidance of a professional. She giggled the entire time as I clumsily handled the tea leaves.

“This is definitely coming home with us,” she declared, holding up the little packet of tea we had made with love.

Later that day, I surprised her with a peaceful boat ride at Kundala Lake. The stillness of the water, the chirping of birds, and the golden sunset created the perfect romantic setting.

I felt at ease, realising that all the efforts poured into this trip had paid off beautifully.

A Houseboat Dream

If Munnar was a dream, Alleppey was pure magic. We boarded our houseboat to sail through the backwaters, and the tranquility was unmatched. Coconut groves lined the waterways, and small traditional villages dotted the banks.

We even stopped to explore villages like Kainakary and Champakulam, where we met some of the warmest locals. They shared stories about their daily lives, from coir-making to fishing, and even taught us how they craft intricate snake boats for traditional races. It was fascinating to see how closely their lives are tied to the rhythm of the backwaters, and it gave us a deeper appreciation for the simplicity and charm of Kerala's village life.

The houseboat itself was cosy and luxurious. As we settled in, the chef invited us to the deck to learn how to cook some traditional South Indian dishes. My wife jumped at the opportunity, and I couldn’t resist joining in. We laughed as I struggled to fold a dosa properly, and the chef playfully said, “Stick to eating, sir!”

That night, we enjoyed the food we had helped prepare— piping hot sambhar, fluffy idlis, and crispy dosas— under the moonlit sky.

“This is the best meal of my life,” she said, taking a bite of the dosa. I nodded in agreement, the serene surroundings making everything taste better.

Thrills and Chills by the Sea

Kovalam was her favourite part of the trip, and honestly, I could see why. The beaches were stunning, with golden sands and azure waters. We started our day with thrilling water activities at Kovalam Beach— surfing, parasailing, and jet skiing.

Later, we even tried a catamaran ride at Hawa Beach. The strong tides made it a thrilling experience, and by the end, we were soaked but grinning from ear to ear.

For lunch, we stopped at the German Bakery overlooking Lighthouse Beach. Their pastries, milkshakes, and pancakes were to die for.

We spent the evening shopping for souvenirs. She picked out a gorgeous silk saree, while I grabbed a few wooden handicrafts.

A Love That Grows Like the Sunsets in Kerala

Our last evening in Kerala was spent at the iconic lighthouse in Kovalam. Hand in hand, we climbed to the top, taking in the panoramic views of the coastline. The sky was painted in hues of orange and pink, and the waves crashed gently against the rocks below.

As we stood there, watching the sun dip below the horizon, I realised that this trip wasn’t just about the places we visited or the things we did. It was about the memories we created together, the laughter we shared, and the love that grew stronger with each passing day.

Kerala, with its serene backwaters, lush hills, and vibrant beaches, had given us more than just a honeymoon— it had given us a story to cherish forever. And for that, we were eternally grateful to Thrillophilia for making it all so effortless and magical.

As we descended the lighthouse, I made a silent promise to myself- we’d be back someday. After all, how could you not return to a place that felt like home for your heart?
