Nirmit and his wife recently reminisced about their magical honeymoon in Seychelles, flipping through photos that brought their cherished memories to life. The soft sands, vibrant sunsets, and gentle sea breeze lingered in their hearts long after they had returned. 

It was more than just a trip—it was a once-in-a-lifetime experience that strengthened their bond and created unforgettable moments of joy and romance.

The Spark of Inspiration

The idea for their dream honeymoon began when Nirmit’s colleague suggested looking into Thrillophilia’s packages. Stepping Into Paradise

On December 11, 2023, Nirmit and his wife landed at Seychelles Airport, greeted warmly by their host. From there, they were driven to the Mahe Jetty, where they boarded a ferry to Praslin. The journey itself was an introduction to Seychelles’ beauty, with turquoise waters sparkling under the sun and lush greenery forming a perfect backdrop.

Upon arriving at Praslin Jetty, they were whisked away to their hotel. After checking in, they were given the choice to either relax or explore. Deciding to make the most of their time, they ventured out to Côte d'Or Beach. The fine white sand and the soothing sound of waves created an immediate sense of tranquillity.

Later, they visited the famous Anse Lazio, often ranked among the world’s most picturesque beaches. Surrounded by granite boulders and framed by lush vegetation, the beach seemed like a slice of heaven. They soaked in the sunshine, admired the breathtaking views, and felt a deep connection to the natural beauty around them.

Discovering Praslin and La Digue

One of the highlights of their honeymoon was exploring Vallée de Mai, a UNESCO World Heritage Site on Praslin. Known for its unique palm trees, including the famous Coco de Mer, and rich biodiversity, the reserve felt like stepping into an untouched tropical paradise. As they wandered through the lush greenery, they marvelled at the rare wildlife and the serenity of the surroundings.

The following day, they took a ferry to La Digue, a smaller island with a reputation for its relaxed charm and unspoiled beauty. Upon arrival, they rented bicycles and set off to explore the island’s scenic trails. 

One of their stops was Anse Source d’Argent, a beach renowned for its striking granite boulders, soft sands, and crystal-clear waters. It’s no surprise this spot is one of the most photographed beaches in the world.

Their adventure continued with a visit to Nid d’Aigle (Eagle’s Nest), a hill offering panoramic views of La Digue. The hike was worth the effort, as the vistas left them spellbound. They also visited L’Union Estate, a cultural and historical site where they learned about the island’s past, including its traditional methods of copra production.

A Taste of Local Culture

In addition to the stunning landscapes, Nirmit and his wife embraced Seychelles’ rich cultural heritage. During a day trip to Victoria, Mahé’s capital, they explored landmarks that showcased the island’s history and charm. 

The Victoria Clock Tower stood as a reminder of the colonial era, while the Arul Mihu Navasakthi Vinayagar Temple highlighted the diverse religious influences in Seychelles.

One of the most enjoyable parts of their cultural immersion was visiting the Takamaka Rum Distillery. They sampled a variety of rums, each with its unique flavour, and learned about Seychelles’ long history of rum-making. It was a delightful experience that added a vibrant local touch to their journey.

Blissful Relaxation

Amid the adventure and exploration, the couple found moments of pure relaxation. Anse Royale, with its pristine sands and turquoise waters, offered the perfect setting for an afternoon of unwinding. 

Nirmit and his wife spent hours lounging on the beach, swimming in the calm sea, and simply enjoying each other’s company.

Evenings were reserved for indulging in Seychelles’ culinary delights. The couple dined at local restaurants, savouring fresh seafood and Creole delicacies. Each meal was accompanied by breathtaking sunset views, adding a romantic touch to their evenings. 

Whether it was grilled fish, coconut curries, or tropical desserts, every bite was a celebration of the island’s flavours.

Adventures Beneath the Waves

Seychelles is known for its vibrant marine life, and Nirmit and his wife were eager to explore it. Snorkelling in the coral reefs was one of the most thrilling experiences of their trip. 

As they dove into the clear waters, they encountered a school of colourful fish, coral beds, and other marine creatures. It felt like stepping into a hidden world filled with life and beauty.

Their guide, John, played a significant role in making their adventures memorable. His knowledge of the islands, passion for storytelling, and warm personality added depth to every experience. 

Whether it was sharing interesting facts about the marine ecosystem or suggesting the best spots for photography, John ensured they felt at home throughout their journey.

As their honeymoon drew to a close, Nirmit found himself reflecting on the incredible moments they had shared. From the serene beaches and lush forests to the vibrant culture and underwater wonders, every part of their trip was special.
