For Bhanvi Gupta and her partner, Turkey became a nine-day romantic getaway across Istanbul, Cappadocia and Antalya. The route brought together historic neighbourhoods, the Bosphorus, Cappadocia's distinctive landscapes, Turkish cultural performances and the Mediterranean coast.
Rather than staying in one place, the couple got to experience three very different sides of the country. Their journey moved from Istanbul's Ottoman and Byzantine heritage to Cappadocia's valleys and then towards Antalya and the surreal terraces of Pamukkale.
Postcard from Istanbul
Istanbul gave Bhanvi and her partner their first taste of Turkey with an evening on the Bosphorus Dinner Cruise. They sailed between the European and Asian sides of the city while enjoying dinner and soft drinks, with the illuminated waterfront passing by around them. They could spot Istanbul's historic shoreline alongside modern buildings, creating a beautiful setting for their first evening together.
The Bosphorus Strait runs through the heart of Istanbul, connecting the Black Sea with the Sea of Marmara. Cruising along it gave the couple a different view of the city, especially as landmarks and waterfront neighbourhoods appeared along the shore. The experience was relaxed, scenic and well suited to the romantic nature of their getaway.
The couple also explored Istanbul's history through the Full-Day Ottoman Relics and Byzantium Tour. They saw the influence of the Byzantine Empire and Ottoman Empire across the city's historic areas and visited landmarks that reflected Istanbul's long and layered past. With lunch included during the tour, they had a full day to explore the city's heritage while learning more about the two civilisations that shaped it.

Cappadocia brought a completely different landscape into Bhanvi and her partner's holiday. The couple explored South Cappadocia, where naturally formed rock formations and expansive valleys created the distinctive scenery the region is famous for.
They spent the day exploring the terrain and seeing Cappadocia's unusual geological formations up close. The landscape is particularly striking due to the soft volcanic rocks, sculpted valleys and towering formations. After experiencing Istanbul's dense historic streets, the open surroundings of Cappadocia gave the couple a dramatic change of scenery.
Their Cappadocia experience continued into the evening with a Turkish night. The couple watched traditional music and dance performances while experiencing an entertaining side of Turkish culture. After spending the day among Cappadocia's valleys and rock formations, the evening gave them a chance to experience the region through its traditions and performances.
Postcard from Antalya
Antalya brought the couple to Turkey's Mediterranean coast.
The couple explored Kaleiçi, Antalya's historic Old Town, where narrow streets lead between Ottoman-era houses, old city walls and small local shops during the Antalya Tour and Waterfall Tour.
They saw Hadrian's Gate, the Roman-era entrance built in honour of Emperor Hadrian, along with the Clock Tower and Yivli Minaret, one of the city's most recognisable Seljuk landmarks. The walk also brought them towards the Old Harbour, where the historic centre meets the Mediterranean. The natural side of Antalya came through at the Düden Waterfalls. The Lower Düden drops dramatically from the cliffs into the Mediterranean, while the Upper Düden is surrounded by greenery and caves.
The couple also got to experience Antalya's coastal character during their stay. The city sits along the Turquoise Coast, a part of the Mediterranean known for its clear blue waters and scenic shoreline. It gave their romantic getaway a more relaxed chapter after several days of cultural and landscape-focused sightseeing.
Postcard from Pamukkale
The journey through Turkey's landscapes reached one of its most distinctive points at Pamukkale. Bhanvi and her partner visited the famous Cotton Castle, where white travertine terraces spread across the hillside.
They saw the terraces formed by mineral-rich thermal waters flowing over the mountainside. The bright white formations contrast sharply with the surrounding landscape, creating the unusual appearance that gave Pamukkale its name. The couple also explored the ancient ruins of Hierapolis, an archaeological site located beside the travertine terraces. Walking through the remains of the ancient city while looking across the white formations made the visit particularly memorable.
Seeing Hierapolis and Pamukkale together allowed Bhanvi and her partner to experience both Turkey's ancient history and its natural beauty in one place.
