Piyush’s Thrillophilia review: A memorable Singapore Trip

Piyush’s Thrillophilia review: A memorable Singapore Trip

When my partner and I first booked my trip to Singapore for May 2024, we couldn’t help but feel a sense of excitement bubbling inside us. This city-state had been on my bucket list for as long as we could remember, a place we had always imagined experiencing in person one day. The shimmering skyline, lush green spaces, cutting-edge architecture, and the unique blend of cultures were just a few of the things that had drawn me to Singapore. However, little did I know that this trip, organized by Thrillophilia, would evolve into one of the most unforgettable journeys of my life.

How Singapore Welcomed Us with Open Arms

Upon arrival at Changi Airport, my partner and I were immediately struck by the level of warmth with which we were greeted. Our driver, who was both friendly and professional, drove us smoothly from the airport to our accommodation - Ibis Styles Singapore on Macpherson. The hotel was modern, comfortable, and well-located, providing an excellent starting point for exploring the city.

Our adventure began that very evening with a thrilling Night Safari. From the moment we entered the park, I felt an air of excitement. The tram ride through the safari, under the star-studded sky, was absolutely magical. As we ventured deeper into the park, the nocturnal animals revealed themselves in their natural habitats—lions pacing gracefully, hyenas on the hunt, and elephants gliding silently through the night.

Exploring the Architectural and Historical Gems of Singapore

The next morning, as we embarked on a city tour, it felt as though we were stepping right into a postcard. Our guide, full of knowledge and enthusiasm, shared intriguing stories about each landmark, adding depth and life to what could have otherwise been just another sightseeing day. I remember standing before the Merlion at Merlion Park, a symbol of Singapore’s heritage, and feeling a sense of wonder as I marvelled at its majesty. It felt surreal to finally witness this iconic statue that I had seen countless times in books and photos.

But it wasn’t until we reached Marina Bay Sands that we truly understood the awe people have for Singapore's skyline. From the SkyPark, located 57 stories high, the panoramic view of the city was simply breathtaking. Below me, I could see the glimmering Marina Bay, the Singapore Flyer standing tall in the distance, and the lush greenery of Gardens by the Bay stretching out in a harmonious balance with the city's futuristic skyline. Standing there, feeling the wind brush past, I was overcome with a sense of wonder. For a moment, time seemed to stand still, and I felt like I was on top of the world.

Speaking of Gardens by the Bay, my visit to this futuristic park was another highlight. The towering Supertrees, with their enormous, glowing metal trunks, felt like something out of a science fiction novel.

Reliving Childhood Memories

For me, Universal Studios Singapore was an absolute dream come true. From the moment I set foot on Hollywood Boulevard, we were immediately transported into a world of magic and excitement. The entire park was a treasure trove of adventure, and it was impossible not to feel like a child again. Walking through the different themed zones—Ancient Egypt, Shrek’s Far Far Away, and even the thrilling Jurassic Park—was an exhilarating journey.

Sentosa Island was another magical place where I felt like an adventurer in my own right. The island is a playground, designed for people of all ages to indulge in endless fun. Our journey to Sentosa began with a stunning cable car ride, soaring high above the island with the sparkling sea below us. The view was absolutely breathtaking, and we couldn’t help but feel a sense of connection towards each other as we gazed out over the horizon.

Once on the island, we explored Madame Tussauds, where we snapped some fun photos with life-sized wax figures of celebrities, world leaders, and cultural icons. The interactive Digiphoto feature added a modern twist to the experience, allowing us to take home personalized photos that captured our moments perfectly.

But the day wasn’t over yet. We ended it with the Wings of Time show, a mesmerizing outdoor night show on the beach. As the sun dipped below the horizon, the spectacle unfolded before our eyes, with lights, water, and music creating a magical narrative.

A Farewell to the Lion City

As our final day in Singapore arrived, we couldn’t help but reflect on the journey. The trip wasn’t just about ticking off tourist attractions; it was about the experiences that touched my soul. From the exhilarating thrill of the Night Safari to the peaceful serenity of the Gardens by the Bay, every moment had left a lasting impression on me. The memories we created were more than just souvenirs—they were moments that made my heart full.

As we boarded the flight back home, we replayed each day in my mind, grateful for everything we had seen and experienced. The trip to Singapore had exceeded all my expectations, and we found ourselves already planning our next adventure.

Looking back at the entire experience, we realise just how flawlessly everything came together, thanks to Thrillophilia. From the smooth airport transfers to the well-curated itineraries, every detail had been thoughtfully arranged. We never once felt rushed or overwhelmed, allowing us to truly enjoy each moment without stress.
